Completing the admissions process
Once you have submitted an application to the program of your choice, you will need to:
Access your "myKwantlen" Account
Once an application has been submitted, a "myKwantlen" account has been created for you to view your application status, check your new Kwantlen email account, view registration information and make payments on your account. Information on how to access this account will be mailed to you in your application acknowledgement letter. Be sure to check this regularly.
Submit your Documents
Official transcripts are the academic records from a high school or post-secondary institution you have attended. An official transcript can be requested from a provincial department of education or post-secondary institution. Official transcripts must be sent directly to Kwantlen's Admissions office from the post-secondary institution attended or the issuing body in a sealed envelope, signed by the post-secondary institution or bearing an official seal.
High School Transcripts
Applicants to Kwantlen may be required to submit PEN details (BC high school graduates) or official high school transcripts for admission purposes. Students that are currently attending high school may submit interim transcripts issued from the high school to be considered for admission.
Students Currently Attending High School in BC
For applicants currently attending a high school within BC Kwantlen will automatically receive your final transcript from the Ministry of Education in July. To ensure this information is sent to Kwantlen applicants must complete and submit the Post-Secondary Institutions Selections Form online at http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/transcript/transcripts_info.htm. Final grades will be reviewed when they become available, and Kwantlen will accept the better of the classroom grade or the blended grade that includes the Provincial Examination.
Post-secondary Transcripts
Applicants that have completed post-secondary studies at another institution may submit official transcripts. Official transcripts will be sent to Kwantlen at the students request from the issuing institution.
All documents submitted to Kwantlen become the property of Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Neither the original document nor copies will be released to you or anyone outside of the institution. Applicants who do not attend and wish to re-apply later may be required to submit a new set of documents.
International Students
International students are required by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to have a valid study permit while completing post-secondary studies longer than six months in Canada. Kwantlen Polytechnic University requires all newly admitted international students to provide a copy of a valid study permit to Student and Enrolment services within the first three weeks of classes starting. Copies may be emailed, faxed or brought in person. International students who do not submit a valid study permit prior to the Last Day to Withdraw will have a study permit hold put on their account for the following term preventing further registration activities. A copy of the study permit will be kept on the student file.
For more information about study permits, please refer to the international advising website or the CIC website.
Visit the Required Documents page in the online calendar to learn more about these and other documents required by Kwantlen. For more information on submitting your documents, visit Required Documents for Submission.
Meet any additional admissions requirements
Some programs may have additional admission requirements which will be communicated to you by letter from our Admissions office. For additional program information, refer to the Programs and Entrance Requirements section of the online calendar.
