If a student’s application for a study permit is denied by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), the commitment fee may be refunded, minus a $300.00 CAD processing fee. Approved refunds will be issued via cheque, unless otherwise requested, and sent to the address on file.

Paying the Commitment Fee
The commitment fee is payable online via credit card through your myKwantlen account, under the Admission tab. Payment can also be made via online banking, cheque, money order, Interac Online or bank transfer. The commitment fee is a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit applied to the first semester's tuition that confirms your intention to study at Kwantlen.
Registration Deposit
The registration deposit is not the same as a commitment fee. It is a prepaid deposit required to enable registration for all students and should be paid 1-2 days prior to your registration date. It is non-refundable, but is used to reduce your total fees owing for the semester. Students who pay a commitment fee are not required to pay the registration deposit for the first attendance period.
