You will learn how to coordinate and communicate the various nursing unit activities in a hospital, which include maintaining patient chart records and how to process written doctor's orders.
The health unit coordinator's role supports the doctor's orders for their patients and accurately and reliably communicates the orders to the interdisciplinary team and various departments to complete.
Graduates of the program are employed in a variety of hospital settings that include acute, long-term care and extended care units a Unit Clerks, Unit Coordinators or Nursing Unit Assistants.
