How to Register
Registering is as easy as counting from one to five.
Your registration time is determined by the Kwantlen registration priority policy and is pre-assigned 3-4 weeks prior to the start of registration for each semester. Registration times are published and available for viewing according to the schedule listed in the Dates & Deadlines section of the Registration Guide.
To find out your pre-assigned registration time, log-in to myKwantlen. Your registration time, as well as other important registration information (i.e. holds, registration deposit payment, etc) will be displayed under the Check Your Registration Status option within the Student Registration Menu in the Online Self-Service channel. You can register at, or any time after, your assigned registration time. Students in selective entry programs must register at their assigned time in order to maintain their registration priority.
Eligibility to register
You do not need to re-apply after missing only one semester. Students who applied to the upcoming semester or the previous two semesters, or who attended at least one of the three previous semesters will automatically be assigned a registration time. Students remain eligible to register for up to two (2) consecutive semesters after applying and up to three (3) consecutive semesters after registering (excluding withdrawals) for a semester.
While checking your registration time, ensure your registration deposit has been processed. If you have already paid your deposit, and it is not recorded, you will not be able to register. Also, ensure you have no holds that would prevent you from registering. Finally, check to ensure your academic standing permits registration.
If you have any questions or concerns with your registration time, registration deposit, holds, or academic standing, please contact Student Enrolment Services on any Kwantlen campus, or by phone at 604.599.2000.
Use the online Timetables to plan your courses for the semester. You must plan a conflict free timetable - including the final exams. If you need help with your course or timetable planning, please contact Educational Advising.
If you are a new Kwantlen student, consider attending one of Educational Advising’s registration and course planning workshops. Workshops are offered at the Langley, Surrey and Richmond campuses. For more information and to register online, visit Educational Advising online.
You must have a prepaid balance of at least $250 on your account prior to registering in any semester. New students in limited enrolment programs and new international students, will have prepaid a commitment fee; all other students, and continuing students must prepay a $250 deposit. For details on how to pay or check your account balance, see the Deposits, Charges and Penalties page. Ensure you allow at least 1-2 days for processing your deposit payment before your registration time!
Tuition and fee payment at Kwantlen is generally required 2-3 weeks ahead of the first week of classes. The tuition fee deadline for each semester is published and available for viewing in the Dates & Deadlines section of the Registration Guide. Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Deposits, Charges and Penalties page of the Registration Guide to ensure they understand the deadlines, and penalties and the How to Pay page for information on methods of payment and where to pay.
Students in receipt of financial assistance to help fund their studies should contact Student Awards and Financial Assistance office regarding tuition deferrals.
